Tropical Storm Fay | What we can expect in Attleboro, MA

Tonight and into tomorrow we're expecting to be hit by Tropical Storm Fay. Though Western Massachusetts is expected to get the brunt of it, we can still expect some rain.
What is a tropical storm
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA): a tropical storm is a cyclone with max wind speeds of 39-73 MPH.
Tropical Storm Fay will bring winds up to 40 MPH in the Attleboro area, so be sure to tie down any loose outside items or bring your patio furniture in the basement/into the shed. You don't want your stuff flying around the yard!

The storm has been making it's way up the East Coast from the Carolinas, and is expected to get to the Massachusetts area in the late afternoon today and we can expect the most rain in the late evening and overnight.
According to WBZ TV, we can expect .55"-1" of rain.
Throughout Southern New England, the storm is expected to bring 1-2 inches of rain.
On Saturday (July 11th), we can expect a few lingering showers, but the biggest part of the storm will be late evening into the night today (July 10th)
Fun Fact: Tropical Storm Fay is the 6th named storm of 2020. The fourth named storm of the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
